How to switch from cli mode to gui in Ubuntu

My friend asked me today about the problem he his facing in ubuntu linux ,that he was unable to switch from the cli mode to the gui mode for that there is simple command that is:

startx

enter it through root and you will be able to switch from cli mode to graphics mode.

Other than that there are more commands too:

init 5

This is default for graphical mode and by entering it can be switched from cli to gui.

  2. to use commands you open terminal by right click on screen, no need to move back to cli.
    And if you really want then have to shut it down then only you can enter back to cli...!!

    when i insattling it every time a desktop visulation problems come and it is stooped the instaltion process ... help me

  5. Yes just type startx and you will be viewing your graphical mode.ENJOY LINUX.
