Here i am presenting before you an awsome trick well known as hodigni's last trick....
try it guys:
RULES:
1.given below is the diagram,u have to start from any end and cut all the lines...thats it.
2. for example below is a trial of it but was not successfull...!!!!!
See the solution:
Here is my solution...since the rules do not say restrict you from using a common point on multiple lines...I have solved this using the least amount of lines.

gud one..:)
ReplyDeleteIf I drew my lines more straight you would see that every block now has triangles :)
ReplyDeleteFrom Wikipedia. Line (geometry), an infinitely-extending one-dimensional figure that has no curvature.
ReplyDeleteI would like to highlight ONE-Dimensional. Where ever a line starts or ends is called a point. A line is simply a mathematical geometric figure, it's not a physical tangible item that allows you to cross two lines at a corner because the corners classify as a point, where one line ends and another begins, and because it's One-dimensional you can't draw a line through a point and classify it as crossing through a line. The point's are not lines, they are simply a representation of the beginning or the end of a line. Also before you argue that the continuous line your drawing through the puzzle has curvature therefore it's not a line by definition. It was an simple term to use to get you to keep the pen on the paper while drawing through the lines.
Just remember a few things: 1. a line is made up of points. 2. a line is not always straight...hence the term "straight line" therefore going through a point does mean going through a line.
ReplyDeletethe rules state u have to cut the lines, cutting implies the lines getting smaller. R all your lines smaller I think not
ReplyDeleteplease point me to the original rules.
ReplyDeletecutting can also be done at a corner if im not mistaken.
Solved it in less than 5 minutes. The problem is to many people are over thinking this puzzle. I will post a copy of the solution on my facebook page. Look under Profile Pics
ReplyDeletethis is MY solution.

If this is the only rule then the answer to the problem is simple... instead of drawing a line to pass through every line simply erase the points in which they are connected. giving you smaller lines and all being "cut"... here is the answer...

One thing to add to all of this.
ReplyDeleteThis whole puzzle is based on where this puzzle represents 5 rooms. You can't cut through corners because this puzzle was meant to be taken in the physical world.
